Hutspot Amsterdam

Hutspot is one of those places that you see and before you can realise how cool it is, you already went in! I think it was about a year and a half ago that I first set foot in Hutspot. I was actually on my way to Albert Cuyp Market when I saw it and I just loved everything about it. So last week when I was there, I thought I should take some photos and share this cool place with those of you that didn’t know it yet.

The space at van Woustraat is devided in three areas: the store and the Barber (yes, they have an old-style Barber Shop in the store) on the ground level and the Cafe which is located on the first floor. And the best part is that everything is for sale. Not only the displayed items, like clothing, accessories etc, but also the stuff they are displayed on.. tables, lamps, chairs you name it! If you love something you can take it home with you. Isn’t that amazing?

I think one of the most important characteristics of this concept is that it’s always changing. There are always new brands, artists and designers featured, and so many of those beautiful vintage things combined with modern design. The mix between old and new creates such a strong and authentic look, especially because most of the things there are not only looking great, but they also have a great story behind them. That particular day San noticed some great looking celling lights rescued from an abandoned military airfield. (see picture below).
