Origo Coffee Shop

I don’t drink coffee every day, but when I do, I like it to be special and I enjoy every sip!.. Freshly roasted & ground coffee tastes soo good!.. Origo is the first Coffee Shop with its own roaster in Bucharest and after discovering their website, I decided to pay them a visit! They are located very close to the city center, in a quiet street, and on a sunny day you can enjoy your drink on their terrace!.. They roast and grind their coffee, and I think they do a great job. I am no coffee expert, but if you are in Bucharest I think it’s worth paying them a visit.

I also especially liked the relaxed ambience, with couples enjoying beautiful lattes together, people having a quick an expresso while working, or just friends hanging out!.. Also, the staff was very friendly and kindly explained us the different brewing methods they are using, trying to help us pick the best option for us!.. I went there with my mom, after a bike ride around the city. We ended up ordering a one shot espresso for her (it was quite late in the afternoon and wanted something with less caffeine) and a V60 filter coffee for me.

The espresso was thick and creamy, and with a strong flavour. My filter coffee was balanced and naturally sweet, even with no added sugar. But due to the fact that it was made using a medium roast coffee it was definitely a strong coffee. Next time I’ll try one of their beautiful lattes, they looks quite yummy!
